Barbara Bentley grew up inNorthern California in a middle-class, blue collar town. She graduated summa cum laude with a BS inMarketing and was the Outstanding Undergraduate of the Business School
at Golden Gate University. When Bentley decided to write ADANCE WITH THE DEVIL to help others, she didn't realize the story was
not complete and that, with passion, planning, patience andpersistence,
she would go on to change the no-fault divorce law of California. What
she did realize was that she needed to learn how towrite. She read books, joined writing organizations, and attended writing workshops.
Bentley
willingly shares her experience whenever the opportunity arises. She
is a motivational speaker who has spoken to audiencesnumbering from ten to five hundred for such diverse organizations.
Bentley’s story generates public interest and was featured on theLifetime Television show FINAL JUSTICE hosted by Erin Brockovich. She was featured on DATELINE NBC in"The Years of Living Dangerously." Her story has also been filmed for the Canadian show THEDEVIL YOU KNOW series and a Washington, DC, company for the WHO THE BLEEP DID I MARRY SERIES. The shows airperiodically.
Bentley
believes she is one person who can make a difference. It is only by
continuing exposure of the psychopath’s techniques that thepublic can protect themselves from becoming another victim. Bentley
could never have imagined her recovery would be so hard won, orthat a psychopath would be so hard to lose.
Bentley
lives on the West Coast with her husband of twenty years and their cat
